2026 Mass Save® Eligibility Requirements
Mass Save® rebates are changing in 2026, and many homeowners aren't sure what qualifies. We make the process simple. Below is everything you need to know about eligibility and how East Coast Mini Splits & Heat Pumps will help you through the entire process.
1. Your Heat Pump Must Be on the Mass Save® Qualified Product List (QPL)
Only cold-climate, high efficiency models qualify for 2026 rebates. We’ll help you select the right QPL-approved equipment for your home.
2. A Proper Manual-J Load Calculation Is Required
Correct sizing is critical. Oversized or undersized systems can be disqualified. Our team performs a full Manual-J calculation to ensure eligibility.
3. Installation Must Be Completed by a Certified HPIN Contractor
East Coast Mini Splits & Heat Pumps is a fully certified HPIN contractor.
4. Your Home Must Be Weatherization Ready
For whole-home rebates, your home must meet Mass Save® insulation and air-sealing standards. If upgrades are needed, Mass Save® may require weatherization before approving the rebate.
5. Integrated Controls May Be Required for Partial-Home Installs
If you are keeping a furnace or boiler as backup heat, Mass Save® may require integrated controls to be installed. We handle this setup for you.
Have a question about the new requirements?
Whole-Home vs. Partial-Home Heat Pumps
Whole-Home Heat Pump System
A system designed to fully heat and cool your home year-round.
Benefits include:
- Higher rebate
- Maximum long-term energy savings
- Must meet full-load heating requirements
Partial-Home Heat Pump System
A heat pump installed alongside an existing furnace or boiler.
Ideal for:
- Lower rebate
- Ideal for additions, bonus rooms, small zones
- May require integrated controls
Do You Need a Home Energy Assessment?
Mass Save® requires a home energy assessment for many whole-home rebate scenarios.
If your home needs insulation or air sealing, those upgrades may be required before receiving the full rebate.
We can schedule this for you or coordinate with Mass Save® on your behalf.
